Order Activity is Improving, Despite the Cold Temperatures

Order activity for semiconductor equipment increased to 54 °F; generative AI remains a bright spot as capacity constraints remain for CoWoS. August sales are in from the remaining Taiwanese manufacturers and the results are mixed. Foundries were down mid-teens on a yearly basis but were up MoM. Turning to the subcons, they had a fourth consecutive month of sequential gains while the yearly comparisons remain challenging. Now looking at Fabless, MediaTek soared sequentially and the yearly declines are moderating.
