This report is a functional analysis of the Texas Instruments POMAP1612B Processor. The POMAP1612B is a single-chip application processor that supports all cellular standards, and complements any modem or chipset and any air interface. It is intended for high-volume wireless OEM’s. The POMAP1612B DSP uses a dual-processor architecture with external memory shared between the two processors through the use of a memory and traffic controller.
