Semiconductor sales fell 5% last week and were down 25% from this time in 2022. The IC weather fell 2° to Cool conditions. Zooming in on the latest forecast update for the year, 2023 semiconductor sales are expected to fall 7% to $572B—a $9B trim from the last update. The major changes were made to memory, with DRAM now at –29% and NAND at –31% for 2023.

TechInsights’ IC Supply/Demand loosened to Balanced conditions. More Moore foundry moved to Loose conditions while More than Moore foundry and OSAT went from Tight to Balanced conditions. Auto ICs have loosened to Tight conditions for the first time in 10 weeks.

Retail prices of electronics continue to fall.
