2 Min Read February 18, 2026
January delivers big with Snapdragon X2, Kompanio 540, Apple M1–M5, Neoverse V3, new RISC‑V, STM32V8, Meta glasses, and 61 CES 2026 launches.

In January, the Microprocessor Report team covered Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite, a Windows-focused compute platform, and MediaTek’s Kompanio 540 for mainstream Chromebooks. We also examined five years of Apple Silicon from M1 through M5 and analyzed Arm’s Neoverse V3 deployments in AWS’s Graviton5 and Microsoft’s Cobalt 200. Additional coverage included high-performance RISC-V applications, STMicroelectronics’ STM32V8 for embedded intelligence, and Meta’s Ray‑Ban Display Glasses alongside the processor architecture for Meta’s Orion AR Glasses. As expected, device launches increased, many of them ushered in by January’s marquee event, CES 2026 (formerly referred to as the Consumer Electronics Show). We saw 61 devices announced and two new IP identified this past month.
