This report presents a process review of the TJA1055 Controller Area Network (CAN) transceiver. NXP's TJA1055 is suitable for low speed applications up to 125 kilobaud in passenger cars, and provides differential receive and transmit capability and can support up to 32 nodes, with better electrostatic discharge tolerance and lower sleep-mode power consumption than earlier variants. As a fault-tolerant device, the TJA1055 supports error, wake-up, standby, and enable signals.
