Get inside a 2Mp CMOS Image Sensor from one of the markets newest entrants, SiliconFile. Having recently won a socket in a high end mobile phone, SiliconFile has what it takes to deliver fit and function in one of the industries most competitive segments. Additionally, this is the first CMOS image sensor device fabricated by the Dongbu foundry in Korea that Chipworks has reported on (and the first CIS to our knowledge). Chipworks' Imager Process Review Reports are an extension of our Process Review Reports and provide additional details about the unique fabrication processes that enable CMOS image sensor and charge coupled device (CCD) technology. Using custom-developed and refined sample preparation techniques, we provide details on the specific processes used in image sensors - including microlens and color filter analysis, unit pixel architecture and photocathode doping profiles.
