This report presents a basic functional analysis of the Apple A7 APL0698 applications processor, extracted from the iPhone 5s smartphone. The APL0698 SoC is a 64 bit, dual ARMv8 core, low power applications processor operating at 1.3 GHz. The A7 chip is touted as being the world's first 64-bit mobile applications processor to be released in a product, and according to a press release by Apple, contains over 1 billion transistors.
