Q3 2023 – Samsung: Pure Smartphone Specialist

Samsung shipped 59.5 million smartphones worldwide and phased out feature phones in Q3 2023. Smartphone shipments were down 8% YoY, largely because of the mixed demand due to the global economic slowdown and intensified competition. As a result, Samsung’s wholesale revenue registered a mild annual decline. However, due to well-executed cost management, Samsung’s operating profit margin remained in the double-digit zone and posted annual growth this quarter.
