TechInsights forecasts that almost 12 percent of all new battery electric light vehicles will be powered by sodium-ion batteries by 2030. Sodium-ion batteries have been developed as a lower cost alternative to lithium-ion. The early implementation in China suggests deployments in the economy and low-cost sectors and in the sub-compact model segments will be the target.
