The iPhone 14 Pro Max is Apple’s largest and most technically advanced device from their latest line-up. It is based on the latest A16 Bionic chip which was also implemented in the iPhone 14 Pro. The most significant improvement is that A16 is built on 4nm process technology while the previous A15 is manufactured in 5nm technology. The A16 Bionic uses the same 6-core CPU as A15: two high-performance and four high-efficiency cores. However, CPU speed was increased from 3.23 GHz to 3.46 GHz for high-performance cores and from 1.82 GHz to 2.0 GHz for high-efficiency cores. Moreover, even though both the A16 and A15 chips feature the same Apple 5-core GPU, the A16 achieves better results. The reason for that is the 4nm process technology which provides greater power efficiency and heat management. The dimensions of the A15 and A16 chips are similar, but the A16 die is larger than the predecessor.
