  • Order activity for semiconductor equipment extended its decline, slipping to 66 degrees
    • Dipping below the Growth-Decline line for the first time since May 2020
  • All segments trended lower with Memory getting hit the hardest, falling to a new low for the year
  • Memory fundamentals have deteriorated considerably over the last few months, forcing chipmakers to cut spending and trim utilization rates in order to reduce supply and digest soaring inventories
  • The logic market is also encountering headwinds on multiple fronts and is expected to slow down even more in Q4 and 1Q23 as customers continue to scale back on orders and are even cancelling orders in some cases
  • TechInsights’ Chip Price Performance Index continued to trend lower
    • DRAM fell
    • NAND fell
    • MPUs flat
  • Inventories are soaring
