The OV50X is the first 1” smartphone image sensor from OmniVision that TechInsights has analyzed. It employs OmniVision’s PureCel®Plus-S and TheiaCel™ technology. It is a 50 MP stacked BI CIS with a 1.60 µm pixel and a 4‑cell color filter array (CFA), enabling 2 × 2 pixel binning for 12.5 MP. It will compete with 1” sensor offerings from Sony and SmartSens that TechInsights has previously analyzed.
