Apple’s captive silicon shipments jump 36% YoY in Q3 2025, fueled by new A-, M-, and modem chips across iPhone and beyond.

Apple's captive silicon [led by A-series, M-series, S-series application processors (APs)] shipment volume increased 36% year-on-year in Q3 2025 due to new custom silicon introduced in the latest iPhones. Meanwhile, Apple's total captive silicon expenditure (revenues) increased modestly at 3% in the same period. Apple's A-series APs are used in iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and HomePod while the M-series APs are used in iPad, MacBook, Macs and the Vision Pro devices. Latest Apple 5G modems (C1 and C1X), which were introduced with the latest iPhone 16e and iPhone Air smartphone designs, are included along with the N1 connectivity chips in all 2025 iPhone models. Apple Watch SiPs containing Apple designed S-series chips are also counted. This report provides estimates and short-term forecasts of Apple's captive silicon shipments, revenues, and ASPs by chip model from Q1 2010 to Q2 2026.
