Huawei pioneered the trifold concept with the Mate XT in 2024, but its high price and limited availability restricted adoption. Samsung Display’s supply of the TriFold panel marks a strategic milestone, signaling rising competition and improving yields in foldable displays. Initial shipments of the Galaxy Z TriFold will be limited, with a phased global rollout expected after in 2026.
