Toshiba 5105 24.1 Mp 3.9 µm Pixel Size APS-C CMOS Image Sensor (CIS) with HEZ1 Die Markings from the Nikon D5200 DSLR Camera - Imager Process Review
The Nikon D5200 contains a Toshiba CMOS image sensor with die markings HEZ1 and package markings 5105. It features copper metallization and four metal layers. The Nikon D5200 is an upper entry-level DSLR that improves on the D5100 by offering a 24 MP CMOS sensor, 1080i60 movie capability, a side-articulated 921K dot 3.0" tilt/swivel LCD and new processing filters. Interestingly, the D5200 is equipped with a significantly upgraded AF system, based around the same Multi-Cam 4800DX AF sensor that is used in the D7000, and the same 2016-pixel RGB metering sensor. This report also provides a thorough cross-sectional analysis of the general logic and pixel to help understand how the sensor is fabricated. The focus is on the elements specific to image sensors such as microlenses, color filters, pixel architecture, and photocathode. Analysis of the pixel is parallel and perpendicular to the column outline, to show the structure of the pixel array elements. Detailed images focus on the aperture, transistor gate structure, anti-reflective coatings, and photocathode.
