This report presents a Basic Functional Analysis of the MediaTek MT6592 application processor. According to MediaTek, its MT6592 is a "True Octa-Core" solution since it is the first mobile device SoC capable of processing tasks with eight CPU cores concurrently. The MT6592 features eight ARM Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.7 – 2.0 GHz and an ARM Mali-450MP4 GPU clocked at 700 MHz. The MT6592 includes a multimode cellular modem and full connectivity for dual-band 801.11n Wi-Fi, as well as Bluetooth, FM, GPS, and NFC.
