Global Smart TV shipments declined by 2% in Q3 to reach just over 44.5 million units. Asia Pacific was the worst performing region with declines in China, India, and Japan. High inflation levels are putting a squeeze on consumer discretionary spend in most parts of the world and many would-be TV buyers are prioritizing spending elsewhere. Samsung topped the global Smart TV shipment ranking in the quarter with 19% as its share fell below 20% for a sixth consecutive quarter. TCL kept its position as number two this quarter with 13.4% share just ahead of Hisense at 12.2%.
