Notebook PC shipments in North America totaled 16.2 million units in the 2nd quarter of 2023, just a -2% decline versus the same period a year ago. On a sequential basis, the market grew a whopping 25% on the strength of early education & back to school sales. However, caution is indicated as some demand for education products were pulled forward and as a result the market is expected to remain flat in the 3rd quarter. The holiday season and a second Amazon Prime Day will boost shipments at the end of the year, though inflation remains a vague concern.
