The Sony PlayStation VR2 is a second-generation VR headset by Sony, dedicated for use with PlayStation consoles. The second generation features higher resolution displays with a 10% wider Field-of-view than the first generation.
For the first time, Sony used internal and external IR cameras. Two B&W cameras by OmniVision, with an IR emitter LEDs set, are placed in the display assembly for eye-tracking functionality. Four IR external cameras were placed in front of the headset to observe the surroundings and track body movement and were equipped with a Sony sensor. Both controllers have a set of IR emitter LEDs, which allow hand and finger tracking with IR cameras.
