From time to time, we may augment existing services or develop additional services. If the introduction of these new or additional services results in any material change to the way we collect or process your personal data, we will provide you with more information or additional terms or policies as needed. The table below describes personal data that we receive, that you choose to give us, or that we collect as part of providing our recruitment efforts and marketing interactions, and in providing services - all of which enables us to provide you with appropriate services, website security, features and functionality.

Information gathered via Marketing and Sales Campaigns

We collect business contact and personal information that you provide directly when registering for seminars, interacting with marketing campaigns, and marketing emails, and direct interactions with our sales and marketing team.

This includes information included in your resume and your recruitment profile, or information you provide as part of an application. This includes:

  • Marketing and communication/subscription preferences.
  • Information provided during promotional events and seminars or online marketing events.
Information gathered from Third Party B2B intelligence and marketing companies and resources

We gather information on businesspeople and companies from various third-party business and social platforms to strengthen the accuracy and reliability of data about you and our marketing and sales data. Some of this data is publicly available and some are gathered via social media sites and other public internet sites, such as LinkedIn. We also use public resources such as company web sites, commercially available marketing registries, and public records.

This includes information included in your resume and your recruitment profile, or information you provide as part of an application. This includes:

  • Employee role and title
  • Current and past employer data / work history

We obtain information from other sources to support the delivery of our website and ensure that your account and the website are appropriately secure.

  • Complementary map and location data from service providers based on your IP address.
  • Threat and security event data from service providers associated with your IP address or connecting device.

4. Use of your information

When you use or interact with our website, mobile application and related services, we use your data to provide, analyze, administer, enhance, and personalize your account registration, you or your employer’s subscription and product orders, and to communicate with you on these and other topics.

5. Sharing and access to your personal Information

We follow leading privacy principles to ensure that we only disclose your personal data for lawful reasons or reasons consistent with this Notice. We may share your personal information to better understand your needs and to provide products and services we believe may interest you. Your personal information is only shared according to your choice. Your personal information will be accessed by TechInsights employees who have a legitimate business purpose for using it. Unauthorized use and or disclosure by an employee of TechInsights is strictly prohibited. All employees are required to maintain the confidentiality of personal information and client information they process at all times and failing to do so will result in appropriate disciplinary measures, including but not limited to dismissal.

We may share or disclose your information to other TechInsights companies and third parties for the purposes below:

We do not sell personal information and have not sold personal information in the past 12 months.

6. Your Information and Rights

Updating your account and information

Account details allow Subscribed Users to have a distinct, personalized website experience, built around the nature of your selected job function and account profile, as well as separate website and marketing interaction history. You can request access to your personal information or correct or update out-of-date or inaccurate personal information we hold about you. You may also request that we delete personal information that we hold about you. If you want to access any personal information we hold about you, you may write to, or send an email request to us through our email address privacy@techinsights.com. Please note that there may be instances where access may be restricted as permitted or required by law. We will advise you of the reasons for restricting access in such situations.

Also, certain jurisdictions such as the EU, UK and Brazil provide you with the right to request correction, restricted processing, copy of the information we hold about you, removal of personal data that we process about you and complain to a supervisory authority (e.g., the ICO in the UK). This can be done by sending a request to our email address at dpo@techinsights.com.

Also, when you visit your user account on our website and mobile application, you can access your account settings and update many types of information about you or your account, including your contact information. You must be logged in in to access your account and make any updates. All data and information in your account will have been provided by you and can be updatable by you at any time. You can however, request to have your information updated or changed either directly by contacting our customer success teams or our Privacy Office at: privacy@techinsights.com.

Terminating your website and mobile application accounts and personal data deletion

You may request to have your website and mobile application accounts terminated and have any personal data deleted at any time by contacting your client success manager or our Privacy Office at: privacy@techinsights.com. Note, while you have the right to terminate your account and associated data, we will maintain certain information about you and your account as described in section 10, “Data retention and deletion”.

Marketing Emails and Communication Options

Website Generated Email Messages - If you no longer want to receive certain communications from us via email and other mechanisms, you can simply access your account and uncheck the email communications and updates you wish to unsubscribe from.

Marketing Email Messages and Communications - You may, at any time navigate to the bottom of any marketing email communication and select the "unsubscribe" link.

Please note that you cannot unsubscribe from service-related correspondence from us, including messages relating to your account transactions such as password resets.

Your Rights as a Resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other U.S. states with a comprehensive privacy law

The California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA provides data subjects who are California residents with specific rights regarding their Personal Information. Other U.S. states have also enacted comprehensive privacy laws.

If you are a California resident, or a resident in a U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have a right to request what Personal Information we collect, use, disclose, and sell. You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your Personal Information. You may request:

  • The categories of Personal Information we collected about you;
  • The categories of sources for the Personal Information we collected about you;
  • Our business or commercial purpose(s) for collecting or selling that Personal Information;
  • The categories of third parties with whom we shared that Personal Information; and
  • The specific pieces of Personal information we collected about you.

You have the right to request your personal information in digital format, to request a correction to that information, to request that we port that data to a different provider, and to request that we delete any personal information that we have collected from you. These rights are subject to certain exceptions allowed under applicable law. Certain states such as Colorado and Virginia also give you the right to appeal our decision in connection with your exercise of the above-mentioned rights – and in certain cases, to complain to the attorney general of your state.

CCPA or similar law may provide you with the right to make an access, correction, deletion or similar request via an authorized agent by having such agent follow the process outlined in this privacy notice. Please note that we will request any authorized agent demonstrate that they have been authorized by you to make a request on your behalf. And we will attempt to verify your request. We require any authorized agents to provide us with contact details such as an email address and phone number so that we may ensure a timely response.

We do not currently take any action in response to “Do Not Track” browser signals. However, we do respond to global privacy controls as required under applicable law. See our "Cookie Policy" for more details and your rights.

California residents may submit such a request by contacting our Privacy Office via email at privacy@techinsights.com. Once your request is verified and your identity authenticated, we will respond in accordance with applicable legislation.

Note* TechInsights does not sell any of your personal data or information to third parties or marketing agencies. However, we do enable third parties to collect Usage Data via our website – and that data may be considered a sale of data in certain jurisdictions. We provide notice via the website and the opportunity to opt-out from our sale of such data.

Right to Object or withdraw consent

You have the right to object or withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data for reasons pertaining to your use of our systems and your situation, except where data processing is performed under the basis of legitimate interests, or other means as articulated above. Should you object to processing or withdraw consent, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling and legitimate reasons for such processing that outweigh your interests, rights, and freedoms, or where processing serves the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims.

As noted above, we collect and process your personal data for direct marketing purposes. You have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data for the purpose of such advertising. This also applies to profiling where this is connected to this kind of direct marketing. You can modify your cookie consent preferences to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes at any time, and by updating your consent preferences at the bottom on any marketing email or communication. If you object via these mechanisms or by contacting our Privacy Office, we will no longer process your personal data for this purpose.

We may reject requests that are unreasonable or not required by law, including those that would be extremely impractical, could require disproportionate technical effort, or could expose us to operational risks or potential identity fraud. We may retain information as required or permitted by applicable laws and regulations, including to honor your choices, to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. We take reasonable measures to destroy or de-identify personal information in a secure manner when it is no longer required.

Please note that we will not discriminate against you because you choose to exercise any of the rights related to your personal information.

7. Data Security

We use a set of administrative, logical, physical and managerial measures to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use, disclosure and modification. These measures also include those outlined in our Conflict of Interest and Client Confidential Information Management Policy and other technical controls and operating processes that are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risks of processing your personal information.

Please note, that despite these efforts and controls, that there is always a possibility that a breach in data transmission or storage may occur and we cannot guarantee the security of any information from or about you 100% of the time.

We will do our utmost to ensure the personal information we have about you is accurate and complete and will keep your personal information for as long as required to comply with business, legal and regulatory record keeping requirements and aligned with our internal policies and retention schedules. As we make decisions based on the personal information we have about you, we encourage you to help us keep your information current.

8. Data Transfer and Protection Across Jurisdictions

TechInsights primarily stores and transfers personal information and personal data to the United States, Canada, Republic of South Korea and Germany. These countries may be outside of the country, region or province you live in or where you have interacted with our website, mobile application or services from.

We perform data transfers under certain model contractual provisions aligned to the European Commission’s expectations and in direct aim of respecting your privacy rights. We maintain our privacy controls in alignment with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

Note that your personal information may be stored and processed by our service providers inside or outside of our data processing locations and therefore may be available to government authorities under lawful orders and laws applicable in those other locations.

9. Account Management

For all access to your account, we may install cookies within your web-browser that enables us to provide a more positive account access experience without requiring re-entry of any password or other user identification when your browser revisits the website. The period of validity of these cookies may vary per customer and/or user.

To ensure the security and privacy of your account, we recommend you actively Logout of your user account and session via your user account menu and ensure you use a strong password to protect your account. Our website account setup service is equipped with a password strength meter to help you select a strong password.

10. Data retention and deletion

We keep your personal data only as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. We keep some of your personal data for as long as you are a registered user of our website services and mobile application or as long as you have expressly permitted us via marketing emails and communications.

If you request, we will delete or pseudonymize your personal data so that it no longer identifies you, unless we are legally allowed or required to maintain certain personal data, including situations such as the following:

  • Where we need to retain the personal data for our legal, tax, audit, and accounting obligations, we will retain the necessary personal data for the period required by applicable law; and/or,
  • Where necessary for our legitimate business interests such as fraud prevention or to maintain the security of our website and other user accounts.
  • We do retain a set of Usage Data you may have generated while interacting with the website and our marketing campaigns and emails. This data is maintained to support any future business planning, reporting, and forecasting.

11. Other Websites, Platforms and Applications

Our website may utilize features operated by third party platforms or contain links to sites operated by third parties whose policies regarding the handling of information may differ from ours. For example, you may be able to access some website content via embedded video hosting platforms and technologies. These hosting platforms and technologies have separate and independent privacy or data policies, notices, and terms of use, which you should read carefully.

12. Changes to This Privacy Notice

We will update this Privacy Notice from time to time in response to changing legal, regulatory, or operational requirements. We will provide notice of any such changes (including when they will take effect) in accordance with law. Your continued use of our website and your user account after any such updates take effect will constitute acknowledgement and (as applicable) acceptance of those changes. If you do not wish to acknowledge or accept any updates to this Privacy Notice, you may request for us to cancel your account and delete any related personal data associated with your account or your use of our website services.
