Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 Day Brightens Outlook on Next Wi-Fi Generation

On September 14, 2023, Qualcomm held a Wi-Fi 7 Day event to detail key improvements in Wi-Fi 7, how they’re implementing it, and who they’re partnering with in this new stage of the wireless technology. The IEEE has not yet finalized the 802.11be spec, better known as Wi-Fi 7 by the Wi-Fi Alliance and the broader industry, but that has not stopped chipset vendors from getting their products into OEM partners’ products. We saw a handful of Wi-Fi 7 devices at CES, but Qualcomm alone is now boasting over 190 designs in end products (phones, tablets, PCs, etc.) and over 160 designs in infrastructure products (gateways, routers, enterprise APs, etc.) launched or in product development.
