Despite signs of a slowdown in public cloud growth, providers will still require a substantial quantity of processors, accelerators and other infrastructure to support continued demand and to replenish server stock. We predict a global cloud industry installed base of 16M processors in 2023, rising to 40M in 2028. To sustain such growth, processor shipments will rise by a CAGR of 6% over the next five years, but demand will vary from year-to-year due to recently increased refresh cycles.
