Global Smart TV shipments increased by 4% in Q2 to reach just over 40.5 million units. Europe was the worst performing region as the Russia/Ukraine conflict continues to have a negative impact on shipments in the region. High inflation levels are putting a squeeze on consumer discretionary spend in most parts of the world and many would-be TV buyers are prioritizing spending elsewhere. Samsung topped the global Smart TV shipment ranking in the quarter with 18% as its share fell below 20% for a fifth consecutive quarter. TCL kept its position as number 2 this quarter with 13.8% share just ahead of Hisense at 12.8%.
