ANALYSIS: Global Smartphone 5G Shipments Forecast by Region to 2024

Global 5G smartphone shipments climbed by low double digits YoY in 2022 and growth will remain low in 2023 due to economic turbulence. Growth is stagnating due to China softness and geopolitical and economic turbulence. 5G mmWave devices continue to exist mainly at North America and Japan markets. Apple leads vendors with nearly one third share of all 5G shipments globally, followed by Samsung and Xiaomi. By 2024 Apple’s lead will have shrunk as Samsung grows its shipments faster than the other leading vendors.
